Thermal Test System - System Build Complete. Here's the latest Build From Valence Tek
Here’s our latest build! Complete and ready to ship! This design was a record for us. Just three months to design, build and deliver a one off thermal test system.
Overview: This was a design completed to test components used to cool servers. There was some initial challenges at the outset. Using flexible hoses helped shift some of the more ridged sanitary members. Some of the larger features like the heat exchanger, pumps, coolant reservoir and pressure vessels had to be mounted for long cycle times and could not move as the system was designed.
With such a tight timetable, we enlisted some of our Senior Mechanical Engineers and flew in our best techs to assemble.
Not all parts arrived at the same time, so we had to use some wood skeletons to hold the frame together. Worth it!
Note: This always seems to happen. Extruded aluminum is seemingly flexible but extremely difficult to cut on the bench top. We designed the frame in CAD using the weldment feature. This made the cut list easy to manufacture and draw. The extruded aluminum does allow some movement but at the end of the day, a welded frame would have been just as resilient and would have been cheaper to manufacture. Keep that in mind when building your test frames.
Drive your assemblies, components and layouts this way. We are masters of the 'master model' technique. When it's time to assembly - it should fly together!
